How do I download a YouTube video?

Video is saved as MP4, in every quality the video offers from 144p up to 4K. Audio-only downloads are saved as MP3. For MP4 files that play on every device, choose 1080p or lower.

Is it legal to download YouTube videos?

Why is my download taking a while?
Our server fetches the file first and then sends it to you, so long or high-quality videos take longer. Choosing a lower quality such as 480p makes it faster.
Can I download playlists or live streams?
Not at the moment. MaxDownloader handles one regular video at a time.
