How to Save Photos and GIFs from Twitter (X)

The timeline shows a small version. Here is how to get the original photo or the GIF.
Photos in the timeline are shown smaller than the original. Downloading from the tweet link gives you the original file, with its size shown on the card.
X stores GIFs as short looping videos, so GIFs download as MP4. They loop in most apps and players.
Step by step
- Copy the tweet linkPress Share on the tweet and choose Copy link.
- Open the Twitter Photo DownloaderPaste the link and press Get media.
- Look at the cardsEvery photo or GIF in the tweet appears separately. Photos show their size.
- DownloadPhotos save as JPG or PNG, GIFs as MP4. 'View preview' opens a photo in a new tab.
